Quotes and getting started
What to send us and what happens after your first call.
What information do you need to provide a quote?+
Please send your name, telephone number, vehicle registration and a clear description of the damage or fault. Several well-lit photographs are helpful for an initial review. We may still need to inspect the vehicle before confirming the repair method and price.
Can I send photographs of the damage?+
Yes. Photographs can help us understand the general type and location of the damage. Include a photograph of the whole vehicle, a wider view of the affected area and several close views. Photographs do not always reveal damage beneath a panel, so a workshop assessment may also be required.
Do you carry out private repair work?+
Yes. We welcome private work, including scratches, dents, bumper scuffs, panel repairs, resprays, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, ADAS calibration and specialist Raptor coatings.
Will you explain the work before I decide?+
Yes. We will explain what we have found, the repair route we recommend and what information is still needed. Our aim is to give you a clear basis for making a decision before work is agreed.

Accident and insurance repairs
Straightforward help when you are dealing with accident damage.
Can you deal with my insurer?+
Yes. Clent Auto Repairs handles insurance-approved accident repairs and can help bring the assessment, estimate, insurer authorisation and repair work together. Contact us with your insurer and claim reference, if available, and we will explain the next step.
Can you help with fault and non-fault repairs?+
Yes. We can discuss both fault and non-fault repair enquiries. The exact route depends on the circumstances of the claim and the information provided by the insurer, so we will explain what is needed for your particular repair.
When will an insurance repair begin?+
The vehicle must first be assessed and the required authorisation put in place. We will let you know when the repair can be scheduled and whether any further information is needed from you or the insurer.
What happens if further damage is found?+
Some accident damage only becomes visible after parts are removed. If this happens, we will document the additional findings and agree the next step before carrying out work outside the authorised repair plan.
Will I receive updates during the repair?+
Yes. We keep customers informed at useful stages and explain any issue that could affect the repair route or timescale. You can also telephone the workshop if you need to speak to the team directly.

Bodywork and refinishing
Repairs for small cosmetic marks through to extensive paintwork.
Do you repair scratches, dents and bumper scuffs?+
Yes. We assess the location, depth and extent of the damage before recommending the most suitable repair. This can include localised marks, dents, damaged panels and bumper repairs.
How do you match the paint colour?+
Accurate refinishing depends on colour identification, careful preparation and the correct blending method. We assess the existing finish and use an appropriate repair process so the completed area works naturally with the rest of the vehicle.
Can you carry out a full respray?+
Yes. Full resprays are available for extensive paint deterioration, restoration work or an agreed colour change. The vehicle must be inspected so that preparation requirements and the intended finish can be discussed properly.
Can you repair damage rather than replace the whole panel?+
That depends on the panel, the position and severity of the damage, access, material and any structural or safety considerations. We will recommend repair or replacement based on the condition of the vehicle, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Helpful information
Diagnostics and ADAS
Clear explanations for warning lights, faults and safety systems.
Do you diagnose dashboard warning lights?+
Yes. We use diagnostic equipment alongside practical checks to investigate warning lights, running faults and electrical or mechanical concerns. A stored fault code is a starting point, so further testing may be needed to identify the actual cause.
What is ADAS calibration?+
ADAS calibration checks and adjusts the cameras and radar used by driver-assistance features, according to the vehicle manufacturer's requirements. Correct calibration helps those systems interpret their surroundings as intended.
Why might my vehicle need ADAS calibration after a repair?+
Calibration may be required when work affects a camera, radar unit, windscreen, bumper, body panel, steering, suspension, wheel alignment or the vehicle's geometry. The exact requirement depends on the vehicle and the repair carried out.
Is calibration part of the final repair checks?+
Where calibration is required, it is planned as part of completing the repair rather than treated as an unrelated extra. The set-up and result are checked before the work is considered complete.
Helpful information
Raptor coatings
Practical information about textured protective finishes.
What can a Raptor coating be applied to?+
Raptor-style protective coatings are often used on utility vehicles, load areas, lower body sections and individual projects. Suitability depends on the material, condition and intended use of the area, so we assess the job before confirming the process.
Can I choose the area and type of finish?+
Yes. We will discuss the coverage and the practical result you want. Careful preparation and masking are important to achieving a durable, controlled finish.
